Vision Inspired Music (VI Music) is thrilled to present young alternative artist Robin-Huws’ first project, ‘HUES The Mixtape (Vol.1)’. The 14-track mixtape debuts on 30th October, 2017 and was produced by VI’s talented EKKO, ReynoldsTGM and Robin-Huws himself, also with credits from Quakes, Kris-D and Gordon Blackwell. ‘HUES’ features some familiar names such as Akotowaa and Maayaa, and is currently available on iTunes, Spotify and Soundcloud as well as on aftown.com/shop/robin-huws.
Robin-Huws proves himself quite the storyteller on ‘HUES’ both in individual songs and through a few songs with a running theme. ‘Forgotten Love’ is slow, spacious and pensive as he discusses a former lover and this lament continues in ‘Kimberly’, which gets more upbeat towards the end and leads to the more hopeful ‘Voice on the Radio’. In ‘Lifeless’, with the help of Akotowaa and Fu, he narrates the story of a young man with suicidal thoughts, feeling trapped in ‘lifeless cycles’.
According to the artist himself,
“the most challenging thing about creating #HUES was overcoming my fears of failure and low self esteem. As funny as it may sound, I’ve never been confident in my voice. And that was one of the most challenging things I had to overcome.”

The soundscape of ‘HUES’ is impressive, with fun and danceable tracks such as ‘Dear Diary’ and ‘Pretty Lady’ as well as bold forays into rock instrumentals in ‘Child of Light’. This is in addition to the simpler R & B sounds of ‘All I Want Is To Be Your Champ’ and ‘Run’. Either way, Robin-Huws voice shines through beautifully and the tape is definitely set to garner the recognition due him.

The occasion which also marked Eno Barony’s birthday saw her premiere 2 exclusives videos shot for the upcoming album “Yaa Asantewaa”, unveiling of album official artworks and cutting of a birthday cake.
Industry colleagues Stay Jay, DJ Mensah, Flowking Stone, D Cryme, George Britton were some of the Showbiz known faces who graced the occasion as well as some renowned Ghanaian Bloggers & Zylofon TV.
“As a rapper, I always see my microphone as a weapon, a weapon to influence society. I’m like a female warrior on the music scene. Just like Yaa Asantewaa of Ghanaian ancient history used a gun as her weapon, so is the microphone to me and I see myself as the dopest emcee amongst the rest. In a male-dominated scene like Ghana, the music industry needs strong and consistent female emcees like me to change the market. I strongly believe this is the time. I’m happy about my new Management, 2MG Music.”

Hiplife musician Captain Planet has told Citi Showbiz in an exclusive interview that he has not broken away from the 4×4 music trio as has been recently speculated.
According to him, the rumour circulating that the group has collapsed after the release of his latest hit song, is not true.
“People are asking if I have left 4×4. But I am still with them. The group is still intact and people should expect more songs from 4×4 and more singles from Captain Planet,” he said.
Recently, it was reported that the foundation of the group was wobbly and that a possible break up was imminent.
Captain Planet whose latest ‘Obi Agye Obi Girl’ is gaining rotation on most radio stations had earlier released several solo projects like ‘The Good Bad Girl,’ ‘Sangbelegbe’ and ‘No New Friends.’
Talking about the motivation behind his latest banger ‘Obi Agye Obi Girl,’ he said he composed the song from conversations that go on in our environment.
“I heard a lot of stories from friends and what we call barbers-shop stories and those from movies and this is a story everything girl or guy can relate to,” he said.

When asked if he had had a personal experience before he said “yes, I have snatched people’s girlfriends from them before and people have also taken my girl before but I couldn’t say it because I feared my friends would laugh at me,” he quipped.
Captain Planet’s latest hit ‘Obi Agye Obi Girl’ which features Kofi Kinaata talks about how painful it when one’s girlfriend is snatched from him and how enjoyable it is when someone takes another person’s girlfriend.
Less than a month after its released ‘Obi Agye Obi Girl’ has become an anthem among music lovers.

Just a week after releasing her new buzzing single ‘Life’, Ghanaian singer/songwriter and recording artist, Yaa Yaa has released a new set of vintage-inspired photos.
The ‘Koryor’ crooner shows her daring and fashionable side which we don’t get to see often as she stuns in a pool of vintage themed photos rocking a floor-length opulent maxi dress as well as a flowery organza embellished one.
Yaa Yaa started her career as Bertha, auditioning for ”Stars of the Future” in 2009 with Whitney Houston’s song, ‘Greatest Love of All’. She made it to the semi-finals, picked as one of the final 12 won the competition. She also had the privilege of being an MTN Ambassador for one year. Her first two singles were; ‘Am I’ featuring Sarkodie, then ‘Incredible’ which was written by Chase. She later followed up with a feature on Okyeame Kwame’s ‘Faithful’ song which shot her to fame. Her other songs include ‘Kae’, ‘Dumb Drum’ and ‘Koryor’.

Over the weekend, Ghanaian music diva Efya was in Lagos as she was billed to perform at the 2017 Buckwyld n Breathless concert.
As part of her media tour, she came by the NET for an interview where she spoke about her affiliations with Wizkid, the Starboy imprint, challenges in the Ghanaian music industry and also hinted on releasing a new project.
During the interview, we put the singer on the spotlight by asking her if she thinks Nigerian jollof is better than Ghanaian jollof and her reaction was… she walked away -for a short while.
The Jollof war between Nigeria and Ghana has been ongoing for the longest time and it is expected that the singer would come to the defence of her people.
The battle between Nigerian and Ghanaian Jollof Rice has reached almost epic proportions online. There is a constant argument on Twitter between Nigerians and Ghanaians over which country has the best Jollof Rice.
Nigerians scored a lot of points in the Jollof Rice debate when Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg visited Nigeria in August 2016 and gushed about the country’s Jollof Rice.

Ghanaian songstress Raquel has announced she is back to the country’s music scene after a long break.
It’s been years since she dropped her critically acclaimed song, ‘Sweetio’, which earned her a spot on Ghana’s music scene, but she’s finally back.
She will be releasing a new song titled ‘Shooting Star’, featuring E.L early November 2017.
“It’s new one fam (family). Raquel ft E.L #ShootingStar coming out 3rd November…Watch out, she announced the song on Instagram and Twitter.
The song is expected to rekindle her relationship with her fans.
An earlier press statement indicated that Raquel has two singles with the ‘Koko’ hitmaker to be released before the Christmas festivities.
Also, she has recorded songs like ‘I Slay’ ft Medikal, produced by (Magnom Beats), ‘Happy Birthday’, produced by (Slimbo) and ‘Lakabo’, produced by Shaker.
Born Raquel Naa Ayorkor Ammah, she is a talented musician and recognised as one of Ghana’s best female vocalists. She became very popular in 2011 and 2012 after the release of ‘Sweetio’ and reports of exposing her private part at the ‘Decemba To Remember’ concert organised by Citi FM.
She is being quiet for some time now. Early 2017, she announced she was back.
“I know you have all been asking questions and feeling disappointed…but the thing is I took a break from the celebrity world because I wanted to focus on other things that I felt were more important to me,” she said on Instagram.
“Like my family, my health, writing, education, and other business ventures that is definitely putting food on my table (BES BELIEEEEVE THAT) Surely there is nothing wrong with that! I kept myself to myself because I needed me for a while. So for those of you attacking my management and me for not being in the limelight and releasing songs for some time… please understand that I took that decision for my own personal reason. I don’t need to be famous and flashy to be happy. Please for the love of God stop saying harsh words on my pages if you don’t have the facts about my life and esp if you don’t have anything nice to say. My RAQSTARS are all about positivity so if you ain’t about that life then you are clearly not a Raqstar. My #Raqstars know how much I love them and I am oh so thankful to GOD. I ain’t going nowhere i have been here. I am here so just watch this space!!! I am in such a joyful, peaceful and loving place right now guys!!!! And I have the best people around me that have taught me to be #inlove with myself,” she added.
