Mike Kwa6i (Yung Fly)

Ghanaian producer Mike Kwa6i, previously known as Yung Fly, has accomplished yet another major feat. One of his productions has been played at the Super Bowl as well as on the ‘Bruno v Tyson’ documentary on Sky Sports.

The song in question, ‘Champion‘, is performed by multiple award-winning British rapper Sway Dasafo (who has been working with Mike Kwa6i on some amazing projects ) and features Idris Elba and Tiggs Da Author.

Mike Kwa6i made the announcement via a post on Twitter. He posted:

The Super Bowl is the annual championship game of the National Football League. It has served as the final game of every NFL season since 1966, replacing the NFL Championship Game.

In a post on Twitter, the producer revealed that prior to this feat, he had produced a song for Worlasi titled ‘Magic Man’ which was used for the halftime performance in the NBA game between the Dallas Mavericks and Golden State Warriors.

After the successful release of his debut album, ‘’Summertime Sound’’ in 2020, Ghanaian music producer, Isaac Bempong known by his stage name, Moor Sound has released the music video to the song, ‘Machine‘.

The music video for ‘Machine‘, directed by SP is a steamy one, right in line with the subtle yet explicit lyrics of the song. The lighting coupled with the models and Moor Sound’s performance will definitely have your eyes glued to the screen all through the video.

Moor Sound drops steamy visuals for his song ‘Machine’

‘Machine‘ is one of the songs off the ‘’Summertime Sound’’ album with an interesting story around it. The song was recorded at the time Ghana went into lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Moor Sound, spending most of the time working on beats with no artist coming in and out of the studio during that period – he put his vocals on a song for the first time and the result: a catchy 3-minute song glorifying the body of his love interest. ‘’I was going for a Bollywood-Turkish kind of vibe for the production but, I also wanted the vocals to be as African as possible. One thing about me is, I usually have a melody in my head anytime I work on a beat so putting my vocals on wasn’t so difficult to do’’.

‘Machine‘ would be the second music video Moor Sound has released, off the album. The album has arguably accomplished its purpose of showing off the young producer’s effortless skill at putting out different sounds and established Moor Sound as not just a producer but an artist as well.

‘’Summertime Sound’’ is a feel good 7-track Afrobeat album with features from $pacely, Yaa Pono, Kiddblack, Tulenkey and more. The album came after the release of several joint Hip-Hop projects including the highly successful ‘’Here for a Good Time Not a Long Time’’ EP with La Même Gang’s Kiddblack in 2019.

Stop giving out your songs for free downloads – Enock Agyepong reiterates

Artist Manager and CEO for Speech Production has advised Artists especially the New ones to Stop giving out their songs to Bloggers to upload them for free downloads in the name of promotion.

Our industry have gone through a lot of faces and I must admit that initially Artists and even some producers were giving out their songs to some bloggers to upload for free downloads simply because radio became too expensive to patronize and they still had to reach their fans but things have changed and they should learn the new ways of doing this business.

Music is Not a Free commodity anymore especially in this era of Aggregators and business platforms like iTunes, Spotify, Boomplay, audiomack and the likes. Search for a good aggregator and sign a distribution deal and make money off your own intellectual property and stop allowing some bloggers to take advantage of your works.

Again bloggers and websites that keep uploading the works of Artists on their blind side and making money off it should desist from that illegal act before the law catches up with them.

With the DJs, we can trust them with our songs since it will be difficult for any professional DJ to just give out his songs and with the new wave that’s blowing trust me things are going to get better.

Let me commend DJ Mecury Quaye the founder of DJ Awards Ghana for dedicating 1 hour of his Airtime on prime radio to Good songs that are doing well on the streets but not getting enough rotation on radio and I know his DJ fraternity will also replicate this great gesture in helping build this great industry.

Kudos also to Bloggers like Beeniewords.com, GhanaNdwom.com, Beatznation.com and a few others who insist on the links to your songs to share instead of taking the songs itself and making it free for downloads.

The era of FREEBIES is over so let’s all rise to the occasion he concluded.

DJ Breezy

Ghanaian record producer and hitmaker, DJ Breezy, has indicated that the time for producers to be given some respect and right treatment is due.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, DJ Breezy stated that though artistes are usually at the forefront when it comes to music releases, performance of songs at events etc. The majority of work with regards to a song lies in the hands of the producers who are treated as if they have the ‘cheapest of jobs’.

He said:

I understand that at the end of the day, it is the artiste that performs the songs, graces events and all but we put in the works, with the mixes, among others.

However, here in Ghana, when you talk about producers, it is as if it is the cheapest of the jobs, it is like anyone can get up and say “I am a producer” but no, it takes a lot of mental work and creativity to put together a great sound for an artiste to use

He further went on to say that the responsibility falls on the artistes to help producers get recognition for works done for them (artistes) and cited Black Avenue Musik Boss, D-Black as a shiny example.

I recall that when I started out, anytime he (D-Black) got the chance to be on radio or television, he would mention my name and that helped me a lot, it brought some attention and respect to me.

DJ Breezy who is known to be the in house producer for BAM (Black Avenue Musik), further spoke about opening a new studio as well as owning a record label. According to him, he is still with B.A.M and starting his own record label and opening his own studio was basically him spreading his wings and challenging himself.

DJ Breezy

DJ Breezy has spent over 10 years producing and DJing and has worked with up and coming artistes as well as established artistes like Sarkodie, Patoranking, D-Black, Wande Coal, Joey B, Skales, Pappy Kojo, EL, R2Bees and VVIP during that period.

Producer Badszn

BADSZN returns to the scene with a statement as he releases his new EP ‘’A Little After Two’’, sounding as mesmerizing but as kinetic as ever. The 4-track EP showcases the true depths of the multifaceted BADSZN and the swaying nature of his experiences.

The artist/producer enlists Stoneage Clan affiliates – King Joey, Wavy Willy and Carl Keegan. He also features – Jaleel Thomas, Nii Amu, Ayibilla and Fenix.

‘’A Little After Two’’ opens up with an intro. Titled ‘Father Father’, the intro has a dark heavenly sound with choir samples hovering dark gritty trap drums. It is based on the reality of the youth, who are in the daily struggle of looking for a paycheck. It features Jaleel Thomas and Wavy Willy who lend their thoughts on their struggles in the daily search for money.

Following the EP’s intro is ‘Illegal’, the second track – which is a soulful guitar master piece which features Nii Amu and King Joey and basically talks about all the vices we face as youth. Next is ‘Silika’, a fusion of Rock and Hip-Hop. ‘Silika’ features Ayinbilla who delivers a powerful message of flying high and living free in his native Frafra language. The EP ends with ‘Recipe’, a soulful RnB song featuring Fenix. It talks about being what your lover needs and wanting to do more for your lover. A perfect end to a perfect tape.

Over the years, BADSZN has made contributions to the new growing Ghanaian sound by producing standouts like La Même Gang’s, ‘Snakes’, ‘Lost Ones’ by Darkovibes, ‘Nipa Gorgomi’ by Magnom and ‘In God We Trust’ by King Joey & $pacely. With his new project, the chart-topping producer and artist put his best foot forward establishing him in a lane of his own by bringing refreshing sounds to the table.

On the 12th of December 2020, PM Foundation and PM Entertainment Consult (PEC) organized a great event dubbed “Dine With The Street” to celebrate Nana Quasi-Wusu also known as PM (his 10 years as a professional MC).

The fun packed activities included feeding 1000 street people, dental Screening, eye Screening, malaria Test, Pressure, body Mass Index, hepatitis B test, Face painting for kids, free make Up for Adults, dancing competition, musical chairs, performances from dancers and musicians with loads of give aways. Our volunteers went all out to ensuring the success of the event.

PM Foundation Feeds Over 1000 People On The Street Of New Site -Takoradi

The main event commenced at 12pm and ended at 6pm.

PM the founder of PM Foundation and the CEO of PEC said “The Slogan for PM Foundation and PEC is “Service to Humanity” and “House of Excellence” respectively so we live by that. I always feel so fulfilled when I am able to put smiles on the faces of the less privileged in the Society, most especially kids because I have so much love for them which is why I chose December for this exercise. I chose to celebrate with them for the past 3 years because I know what it is like to be deprived of food, and quality entertainment.

PM Foundation Feeds Over 1000 People On The Street Of New Site -Takoradi 2

In 2018 at age 30, “30 years with the needy” was my 1st major event held at Fathers Home Care Ministries, BU.

In 2019, “31 Years with The Needy” was held at the same location. Then in 2020, I moved the whole event to the street to make it bigger within the community that I have been living for a decade (New Site-Takoradi) to celebrate my 10 years as a professional MC/Birthday.

Dine With The Street had a huge turn out and it is here to stay as our flagship event every December (my birth month). You could see the sign of contentment in the faces of both kids and adults who joined in this great celebration. It got to a point where people wearing funeral clothes and Taxi drivers joining in the queue to be screened and served with good food and drinks. We also had Grand fathers and mothers coming through in their numbers.

A very big thank you to all the sponsors, Supporters and media partners. God richly bless you. The next edition is going to be held on the 11th of December 2021 (Saturday) which falls on my birthday at New Takoradi Park, a suburb of Takoradi which is also a deprived area.

All sponsors, Supporters media partners are welcome on board. Contact 0507 111 915 or 0245 995 333. Email [email protected] social media @pm__foundation.
