DCLeakers Launches Maiden Edition Of “Do It For The Culture” (9)

On 21st September, 2019 –  bright lights, an eager audience and great music filled up the premises of the BBNZ Live Bar (Keta Close) as an event earmarked for success was launched. The ingenious event dubbed ‘Do It For the Culture’ was brought to you by DCLeakers

The intent of this event is to broaden the scope of attendees regarding the various genre of music brewed in Ghana and the maiden edition did precisely that as it focused on promoting music made in Ghana, in its entirety.

To further sell the concept of promoting ‘Ghana’, available for every guest in attendance was locally made beverages as well as snacks such as palm wine, sobolo and ‘nkate cake’, to name a few.

The night was idyllic and the enraptured crowd cheered performers on one after the other; relishing in every moment.

In as much as it was a night for music made in Ghana, it also served as an avenue for upcoming artistes to showcase and sell their act/themselves.

‘Do it For the Culture’ has three main objectives and they are; to promote Ghanaian-made music, to give underground acts the avenue to exhibit their talent and primarily, to promote the Ghanaian music culture.

These objectives were duly followed at the maiden edition of this initiative and is expected to grow and become better as the years go buy.

Unorthodox Reviews, Hitz103.9fm, GhanaNdwom.com, Muse Africa, Jonilar.net, Beenie Words, Beatznation and Afrowired were proud partners of this thrilling event.

Refreshment for the night was provided by Juice Lab and Champps Natural.

"Smfh !!! How u fit do copy and paste like that?" DJ Breezy to Nigerian Producer Fresh VDM

Many seem to wonder why DJ Breezy, one of the top notch sound engineers in Ghana, disappeared from the music scene after making a giant entry some years back.

He has blamed his dwindling fortunes to an unfortunate incident which occurred on the night of VGMA 2015 which saw him crowned as the Best Producer of the year.

Dj Breezy in a celebrity interview with Central Music Awards 2019 Best Presenter Nominee, Amansan Krakye on Radio Central in Cape Coast said;

“In 2015, I won VGMAs Best Producer of the year. That same night after the joyous moment, I returned home only to find my studio totally robbed by thieves, and I was devastated”

“In fact, they took away everything in my studio including works that I had done with the likes of Wizkid, Patoranking, Shatta Wale and all efforts by the Police to help me retrieve them proved futile”.

“That was the lowest moment of my life so I decided to go to the US to do some work a bit so that I can acquire the equipment that I lost so that I will bounce back again”.

He however thanked God for life and said he’s back to fulfill his potential of what he started earlier in the music industry.

Bad Boy is an Afro soul tune that blends beautiful kologo sounds and deep resounding bass strings , together with her expressive lyrics and sensuous voice to create a song that praises the beauty of love and communion.

Bad Boy was produced, mixed and mastered by Ghanaian producer Kuvie and Germany based music engineer Lukas Walter.

 Muanda - Bad Boy photoshoot

The song , which initially was to come out earlier last year under the company Daakye Promotions ,was finally released independently on the 23rd of September 2019 and is available on all digital music stores.

Muanda is not a novice in music. She has worked with diverse artistes on various songs , one of them being K3kemi which featured Kuvie and Ayat.

She says ; “To me music is not a job. It’s my escape. It’s the only way I’m able to express emotions and to heal. It’s how I connect to my higher self and to people. “

MzVee and Lynx Entertainment Officially Part Ways 1

Singer MzVee and record label Lynx Entertainment have ended their eight-year relationship.

After MzVee went off the grid and took a sabbatical from active music, there were rumours that her relationship with members at the label has gone sour.

Others claimed the singer had gotten pregnant, went on a break to focus on herself and giving birth.

However, in a press release signed by the ‘Daavi’ hitmaker, she only went on the “much-deserved break” to re-energise, get in touch with herself and redesign her artistic expression.

“These eight years with Lynx Entertainment have been absolutely delightful and a blessing and I am glad we still hold our relationship,” she had written.

She added that Lynx Entertainment will always be a strong pillar in her career hence although both parties have decided to part ways, they will amicably continue support for each other.

Lynx Entertainment also in a press release said they were proud to have watched MzVee grow into the woman she is now and wishes her the best.
