Fortune Dane Releases Unexpected Freestyle Video And He Has A Lot To Say!

Ghanaian music producer Fortune Dane, drops an unexpected Lemon Pepper Freestyle he titles ‘Bracing The Moment. In this release, though he doesn’t specifically mention it, one can assume he is referencing the M.O.G Beatz/Shatta Wale issue as he touches on the producer/artiste relationship which often leads to the producer getting the short end of the stick.

On the plus side, he applauds the move by the producer which sparked conversations and meetings and has started a revolution that ensure producers get what they deserve and legally. Fortune Dane further empathizes with artistes who are down because they are not getting the support and recognition they deserve.

Trap Lord (Slim Drumz) to Release Afrobeat Tune 'OVER' featuring Fameye

Slim Drumz (Also known as the GH Trap Lord), known by his hit song “Yaaba” featuring Medikal a couple of years ago, is set to release the second single of the year! A brand new party-style record called “Over” featuring the “Nothing I Get” Hitmaker, Fameye. Slim Drumz has hinted at a project release later this year featuring a lot of successful artists. This single follows the hard hitting single released in January 2021 called “Style Nor” feat. Magnom. In case you missed that here is a link: https://ampl.ink/yPm3o

According to Slim Drumz, Fameye is excited about the new upcoming release and there have been talks of a music video being released after the audio. It was definitely interesting to say the least, as Slim Drumz has been known for a long time as a trap music artiste. This release promises to be very different from the norm, so fans of both artists cannot wait for the release date on the 2nd of April 2021. For eager fans, the single is also available for pre-save on Spotify.

DJ Edita wins Best DJ at second edition of Y Clash of the DJs

The second edition of YFM’s DJ battle, the Y Clash of the DJS which came off on the 6th of March, ended with Y97.9FM Takoradi’s DJ Edita taking home the Best DJ award sponsored by EBG Credit and a cash prize, among others.

After showing his prowess in two hot categories, the ‘Made in Ghana’ category and the Freestyle category, it was already obvious that DJ Edita had caught the heart of the judges.
Judge, DJ Andy, following the amazing performance from DJ Edita, said, “DJ Edita, you know what, I’m going to be in Taadi in two months time. I will scan YFM, I will search for you and I’m going to listen to every show that you host. You’re superb, man. Kudos to you”.

“DJ Edita, You’ve edited everything. Kudos” was all Reggie Rockstone could say as he was engulfed in the rhythmic heat from the participants, especially DJ Edita for his super exciting play on the turntables. DJ Blow, also a judge in the contest, commended DJ Edita saying, “What can I say? It takes a lot to get me to stand up. Three words for you. DJ Edita. That’s it”.

Chief Director of Global Media Alliance, Emma Wenani, had this to say, “I don’t have all of that DJing knowledge like our judges but I can fairly say that DJ Edita totally deserved this award. He had me dancing in my seat with both performances and I couldn’t agree less with our judges on this decision.

I’d like to say a big thank you to our judges for spending their time with us, for spending
their independence day with us, and another big thanks to EBG Credit for acknowledging his talent with this award and cash prize”.

DJ Edita was given a cash prize of GHC1000 for winning the Best DJ of the night award.
The judges for the event were Reggie Rockson, DJ Blow and Andy Krim. Foster Romanus host of e.TV Ghana’s LNCS was the MC for the night.

For the second time this year, Showmax subscribers outside of Nigeria will have access to homegrown entertainment from abroad. Earlier this year, Showmax streamed its first Nigerian Showmax Original, I Am LAYCON, to fans in Nigeria, the rest of Africa, the UK and other international markets.

Now, fans of the popular singing competition Nigerian Idol will be able to livestream Season 6 in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and across the African continent.

Speaking about the decision, Yolisa Phahle, MultiChoice Group CEO for Connected Video and General Entertainment, says, “Nigerian Idol is one of the biggest shows in the country. While Nigerians living abroad usually miss out on all the excitement, they will be able to take part in the conversation this year as we take more African stories to the world. They will get to share in the experience along with all other fans of Idols.”

From 14 March, fans can watch a 24/7 stream of highlights from the auditions, held late last year. The live events that will take place every Sunday will also be available to livestream from the kick-off date of the main show, 28 March 2021.

The Nigerian Idol platform provides a launch pad for young, talented Nigerians to achieve their dreams in music on the local and global stage. According to Africa Magic’s Channel Director, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, more than 3 600 young Nigerians have auditioned to be on the show this season.

Nigerian Idol Season 6 will be hosted by media personality IK Osakioduwa, with award-winning singer/songwriter Seyi Shay, creative entrepreneur Obi Asika and celebrity DJ Sose appearing as judges on the show.

The winner of this season’s show will walk away with a recording contract from a leading record label and N50 million in prizes.

For Nigerians at home, Nigerian Idol will air on DStv Channel 198, GOtv Channel 29 and Showmax.

Showmax subscriptions start from USD 4.49 for international viewers and from N1 450 in Nigeria.

Mix Master Garzy Hints Of Master Class To Train Upcoming Music Producers

Ghanaian record producer and sound engineer, Mix Master Garzy is set to start a Master class to train individuals interested in music production.

Talking about the inspiration behind the idea, he revealed that a number of young individuals kept requesting that he trains them to become professionals like himself. After thinking over this request for a while, he came up with the idea to start the class to help them.

In an interview on Y97.9 FM’s Dryve of Your Lyfe Show hosted by Nana Quasi-Wusu (PM), he said, “A few days ago, I posted on my social media platform that I needed about (3 or 4) upcoming producers to join me work in the studio. The feedback I got was close to 500 in the comment session so I randomly selected 4 of them and they were blessed”.

He revealed that he took them through thorough training and shared with them software and some processes of production that no producer will want to share with anyone.

“I opened up to them on how I go about my production, shared with them the data of some hit songs I’ve produced and they were very excited about it”, he shared.

Going into details about the class he stated, “The class will be coming off on the 13th of March in East Legon at Kobby’s event center. Interested persons can head to my Instagram page, click on the link in my bio and follow the registration procedure”.

He furthered that, he will not be handling the class alone as he will be having the likes of other legendary producers and DJs including, “DJ Vyrusky, Jay Master Jay, Jay Foley who is also another good producer. I also have Edem as an artiste to talk to us about how producers should relate with artistes and what they expect from them. Eazzy will also be there to speak on collaborations between producers and female acts”.

Not wanting to give out every detail about the training, he encouraged everyone to be a part of the class because it will be a great opportunity to learn. “Everyone should take advantage”, he declared.

He ended by saying, “I am very excited about this and I look forward to it because now, I am convinced that my work is being acknowledged and recognized. That is why others also want to learn from me”.

Multiple award-winning Ghanaian music producer, and current VGMA, One Awards, and 3 Music Awards Producer Of The Year, M.O.G Beatz, has revealed that 3 years down the line, he is yet to receive a penny for producing 10 songs off Shatta Wale’s 17-track Album “Reign”.

The producer sparked controversy after he responded to a social media post by Shatta Wale. In the post, the dancehall artiste listed a number of producers and stated emphatically that he spoils them with cash (See Screenshot below).

Shatta Wale realest producers Paq, Gigz, BeatzVampire, Beatboy

The statement did not go down well with M.O.G Beatz and the producer quickly responded calling the dancehall artiste ‘Stingy’. He posted:

” Money Man @shattawalegh
, me I dey see you as a big brother i never had. I know say you no be STINGY like that lol, i produced 10 songs on the #ReignAlbum but ano see no CASH from you since 2018. Seeing this made me laugh sooo hard
..

-@MOGBEATZ”

M.O.G Beatz further revealed that after he gave Shatta Wale over 150 beats, the dancehall artiste blocked him.

Shatta Wale responded to M.O.G Beatz’s claims saying he did send money to M.O.G Beatz as well as the producer’s mother, to which the producer responded saying none of those monies were payment for his works on the Reign Album.
