Drvmroll and Worlasi set to release collaborative EP 'DIOS'
Drvmroll (Left) and Worlasi (Right)

Although known for the production of quite a number of songs over the years, there hasn’t been a body of work from Drvmroll as a musician since the release of ‘Before V Go‘ in 2018. He breaks the silence this year with an EP titled ‘DIOS‘, a collaborative effort with the talented Worlasi.

Set to be released on 6th November 2020, ‘DIOS’ is a 6-track EP with songs such as:

  • Libilibi
  • Kilode
  • Amazon
  • Hibernate
  • Guiness
  • House Portay

The EP features Wes7ar22, E.L, Feli Nuna, Ko-Jo Cue, Lil Shaker, Haywaya, and Freda Rhymz.

Speaking on the project, Drvmroll stated that:

The paths of Worlasi and I crossed for this project at a time where we both knew we wanted to work on something sonically great. Personally for me, It was a chance to get out of my music rut and explore what Worlasi and I could create. Also along with the opportunity to rip off the “Hip Hop music producer/beat maker” label people had over me for years as this project is heavily influenced by Afro Beats/Highlife music.

I created out of my comfort zone and allowed no mental constrictions in my creative process. After hours of late night sessions and numerous recordings, we ended up with what we felt was our strong 6 for the project.

After a few recessions, we entitled the project, Did It OurSelves – DIOS (also Spanish for GOD). After countless listens to the project, we realized it meant even more to us and to me personally than stated above.

I was met with the realization, I hadn’t stopped learning and growing since my very first beat and all thanks to me, through my hard work, perseverance all wrapped in a bow of my faith.

Ahead of the EP official release, Drvmroll and Worlasi have released track number 2 ‘Kilode’ featuring Wes7ar22.

NaaNa Blu’s mother fires back at Mimi for calling her daughter “criminal”

The mother of NaaNa Blu, Comfort Mensah Eshun, has spoken about recent claims by Mimi Andani that her daughter is a criminal after the release of her new EP ‘This Is Highlife’.

She told Citi FM’s Kwame Dadzie that she was appalled by some utterances by Mimi and would want her to stop tarnishing her daughter’s image.

“Why do you go about calling us names. First, she made despicable statements about me, saying I was a baker. Now she has gone to the extent of calling my daughter a criminal. She needs to put a stop to that,” she noted.

She said she was ready to meet Mimi to settle the matter once and for all.

“Mimi was supposed to have called me and my husband to inform us about the outcome of the contract so we know how to go about the payment for the breach of contract. She did not accord us any respect. While she worked with our daughter, she did not even bother to contact us,” she added.

Mimi, the CEO of Darling Records, Mimi Andani had disclosed that NaaNa breached a contract she had with her label.

She, therefore, requested NaaNa Blu should pay them an amount of GHS 500,000 as compensation for breaching her contract or desist from recording any more songs with the new record label.

It is not clear what became of that matter but NaaNa Blu is seriously promoting her new EP.

“I knew her as Cutie but the same person is called NaaNa Blu now. This, if we go to court, how are you going to answer the claims? It means you are a criminal,” she said.

The ‘No Pressure’ singer has five (5) highlife songs in the ‘This Is Highlife’ EP.

According to her, she decided to do a music collection on highlife because she grew up listening to the type of songs from her grandparents and has since fallen in love with it.

The EP is available on online streaming platforms. Listen to the EP: https://cutt.ly/ThisIsHighlifeEP

NaaNa has songs such as ‘Sugar Cane’, ‘No Pressure’, ‘Afehyiapa’ and ‘Save Us.’

Pzeefire joins #EndSars Protest, dedicates "Suffer Suffer" to Nigerians.

Afro Fusion artist ,David Ayuba, a Nigerian musician based in Ghana known in showbiz as Pzeefire, has added his voice to the #EndSARS #EndSWAT protest which is ongoing across Nigeria by dedicating his song “Suffer Suffer” to affected victims and all departed souls who lost their lives prior to brutalities.

” As a musician I believe music can be a useful tool in resolving conflicts and misunderstandings and artists like Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, Lucky Dube, Femi Kuti and other great musicians have used it in the past and I believe ‘Suffer Suffer’ will be a great tool today as well. Nigeria and Africa have come a long way to be resolving issues through violence and I believe round table discussions by leadership should be the option at all times.”

The #FIRE hit maker believes Nigeria has what it takes to resolve its problems and therefore quick measures should be put in place to curb any form of violence that will lead to the loss of lives.

” The voice of the people is the voice of God so if the people say #EndSARS, #EndSWAT then it means #EndSARS & EndSWAT.

Nigeria is a democratic country and not a Police State therefore any form of Police Brutality should NOT be entertained. Tell me, how do you form a security group that is unconstitutional and use it to brutalize innocent citizens just because of their looks? That’s primitive and undemocratic and shouldn’t be encouraged.

I’ll also like to call on ECOWAS and the AU to quickly step into this issue before what is currently happening in Lekki spreads into other parts of Nigeria. If there is chaos in Nigeria, one of the countries that will directly be affected negatively will be Ghana because of our close relationship and therefore with Ghana as the ECOWAS Chair I believe President Nana Akufo Addo will quickly call on his counterparts to find a quick solution to it just like they recently did with the Mali Crisis.

I strongly believe Africa needs each other in times like this and it’s my dream to see Africa as One with Possibly One President in the Near future. Nothing is Impossible and we know that Together As One we can Achieve Greatness” ,

Pzeefire told BeenieWords in an exclusive interview.
