Samsney [Ghanaian Music Producer]

SAMSNEY, also known as Savagemix Sney, is a Ghanaian record producer and sound engineer. His real name is Samuel Sarpong, and he was born on April 9, 1995, at Odorkor in the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area. His production work covers genres including Afrobeats, Highlife, Hip-hop and Trap. He has worked with artists including Black Sherif, Kelvyn Boy, Darkovibes, Wendy Shay and Eno Barony.

SAMSNEY became particularly associated with Black Sherif through the 2021 single “Goldigga.” Released on November 18, 2021, the song was credited to Samsney and Black Sherif, with Samsney listed as the producer. The release was issued through Savage Studios and marked one of the producer’s notable collaborations with Black Sherif.

In 2022, Samsney released “Kuacha”, featuring Kelvyn Boy, Black Sherif and Darkovibes. The song was released on June 23, 2022, through Savage Studios. The production combines elements of Ghanaian Highlife with Drill, beginning with a guitar progression associated with “Yaa Amponsah” before moving into a Drill-oriented section. Samsney said the record reflected his interest in combining traditional Ghanaian sounds with other genres.

His work with Black Sherif continued beyond their early collaborations. In 2022, Samsney clarified that he was not Black Sherif’s in-house producer. He explained that their professional relationship began before Black Sherif signed with his management team and that they continued working together independently as Black Sherif’s career developed.
