Real name Thomas Adjei Wireko, King Paluta was born on January 27, 1992, in Atonsu, a suburb of Kumasi in Ghana’s Ashanti Region. The city shaped him profoundly, Kumasi’s rich hiplife and Asakaa culture gave him his musical DNA, and he first built his name trading bars in street rap battles.
His artistry is rooted in wit, social awareness, and sharp wordplay, often weaving between Twi and English with natural ease. Songs like “Creativity,” “Songs of the Legends,” and the “Yahitte Remix”, alongside collaborations with Kuami Eugene, Strongman, and Amerado, established him as a serious voice in Ghanaian hip-hop. He is also recognized as a key figure in the “Kumerica” movement out of Kumasi.
By 2025, King Paluta had fully outgrown his newcomer status. “Foko” went viral on TikTok, followed by a steady run of releases including “Asikyire,” “Thank You,” “Between Me and God,” and the year-closing “Ewor Me” with highlife legend Kwabena Kwabena. He performed on stages across Ghana and internationally in the UK, US, Germany, Spain, and Belgium, while crossing 33.5 million YouTube streams and landing fourth among the most-streamed Ghanaian acts on Audiomack.
On the awards front, he swept the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards with Best New Artiste and Best Hiplife Song, then returned in 2025 to claim Best Highlife Song, Producer of the Year, and Most Popular Song, all for “Aseda.”
