Ko-Jo Cue takes listeners back to his roots with “KANI: A Bantama Story,” a deeply personal Ghanaian Hip-Hop album built around memories, experiences and the people that shaped his life in Bantama, Kumasi. Released on November 5, 2025, the 17-track project moves through childhood, family, loss, faith, friendship, ambition and the transition from boyhood to manhood.
Across the album, Ko-Jo Cue blends Hip-Hop, Highlife and Hiplife to tell different parts of his story. Songs such as “Next Term,” “Mr Eben” and “Grew Up Fast” revisit difficult experiences from his younger years, while “Abrantie” and “Tontonte” bring moments of nostalgia, joy and reflection. The project also touches on grief, responsibility and the realities that come with growing older.
Featuring artists including Jiire Smith, Genna, AratheJay, Ofori Amponsah, Marince Omario, Camidoh, Ayisi and Tsie, “KANI: A Bantama Story” presents Ko-Jo Cue’s personal experiences through a broader Ghanaian lens. The album ultimately connects his individual journey with themes of identity, growth, resilience and home.
