Taylor Jasmine teams up with Nigerian entertainer and musician Carter Efe on “Met You,” a romantic Afropop collaboration released on October 20, 2026, alongside its official music video. The song draws inspiration from an unexpected connection between two people from different backgrounds, turning a chance meeting into a story about finding love when it is least expected. The video is directed by KambiPictures, with Eh God! Records featured in the opening credits.
On the track, Taylor Jasmine reflects on how meeting someone special changed her outlook on life. She sings about finding true love when she had almost given up on the possibility, while acknowledging the challenges of being miles apart and hoping their relationship will remain strong. Carter Efe brings a more playful energy to his verse, using Nigerian Pidgin and Yoruba expressions to describe how deeply he is captivated by Jasmine. His delivery adds humour and personality to the song’s central message of unexpected romance.
With “Met You,” Taylor Jasmine and Carter Efe celebrate the kind of connection that can change a person’s life and make the past feel far less appealing. The contrast between Jasmine’s heartfelt vocals and Carter Efe’s cheeky, expressive verse gives the song its character, while the official video brings their romantic story to the screen. It is a cross-cultural love song about the joy of meeting someone who makes life feel different for the better.
