Mmarima Adwuma, meaning roughly “men’s work” in Twi, arrives as a meditation on masculinity, labor, and purpose within Akan tradition. Kwame Brenya, an artist devoted to presenting Akan philosophy as art, joins voices with Ayisi to explore what it truly means to carry responsibility as a man in contemporary African life. The collaborators themselves called the track “undiluted essence,” hinting at raw, unfiltered storytelling rather than polished pop sentiment. Rooted in palmwine music and spoken word tradition, the song feels less like entertainment and more like teaching, honoring duty, resilience, and identity passed down through generations.
