Ko-Jo Cue and Shaker come together on “This Trip,” a confident Ghanaian Hip-Hop record that marks their return as a duo. The song finds both rappers in full competitive mode, delivering sharp bars about ambition, persistence and making their presence felt.
Throughout “This Trip,” Ko-Jo Cue and Shaker emphasize movement, progress and refusing to slow down. They reflect on rising from the bottom, staying focused through challenges and continuing to push until their names become impossible to ignore. The song also plays with the idea of “P&P,” connecting its themes of planning, plotting, passion, pay, practice, progress, hustle and prayer to their journey.
“This Trip” is part of the two-track This Trip project, which also features “Seen Dreams” with Titi Owusu. The release sets the stage for Pen & Paper 2, the second chapter of Ko-Jo Cue and Shaker’s collaborative project, nine years after the original Pen & Paper.
