Fuse ODG joins forces with BackRoad Gee and Pa Salieu on “Komfo Anokye,” a powerful Afro-fusion record centred on African heritage, ancestral strength and the determination to reclaim what belongs to the people. Released on May 25, 2026, the song is the fourth track on Fuse ODG’s Spirit of New Africa II album.
Drawing inspiration from Okomfo Anokye, the legendary Asante priest associated with the Golden Stool, Fuse ODG uses the song to reflect on Africa’s history and the strength of those who came before. The lyrics speak about ancestral power, stolen wealth, political division and the need for Africans to stand together. References to swords, warriors and the ground reinforce the idea of people defending their heritage while refusing to forget where they come from.
Fuse ODG also addresses the confusion and division that can exist within communities, questioning who can be trusted while calling for unity and collective progress. The recurring “sword in the ground” and “champion sound” imagery turns the song into a declaration of resilience, while BackRoad Gee and Pa Salieu add their voices to the cross-border collaboration. The accompanying visualizer extends the record’s message, making “Komfo Anokye” another strong statement from Fuse ODG’s continuing TINA, This Is New Africa, movement.
