Ashaiman-based music producer and composer John Kwesi Dosunmu better known as M.O.G Beatz, has advised his fellow producers to focus making money than awards and nominations.
Speaking on Cape Coast-based Radio Central with Amansan Krakye, the “Gboza” producer revealed that he is not bothered for not getting a nomination in Ghana Music Awards UK because an award is not his aim for producing beats.
He said;
“I feel okay, i feel good, the main fact is the music producers should focus on making money rather than these nomination stuffs. Because getting alot of fame while you are still broke, you still have to make money, the money is the main fact, that’s why I’m actually producing music. I need money that’s it”
MOG Beatz broke into the Ghanaian music market in 2016 after producing Sarkodie’s RNS(Rich Nigga Shit). RNS won hiplife song at GMA UK in 2017 and got the nomination for the same category at VGMA 17. MOG was also nominated for best producer at VGMA same year.

The Fortunate 707
Shedding more light on the EP , Fortune Dane indicated that ‘The Fortunate 707’ is meant to Unite people through music.
“I aim to unite people with the songs. The songs on the EP are songs each and everyone can relate to. On the EP you’ll never hear me brag about money or talk about my luxuries. I’m talking about real life stuff – Love , Life , Friends , Broken Hearts …“
Fortune Dane went on to reveal that what makes the EP even more relatable is the fact that it wasn’t planned. It is a project of songs he recorded at various points in time and at various phases in his life. Some of the songs are as far as one year apart from each other. Some had been already released but most will be heard for the first time . The coming together of the entire EP was just ‘FORTUNATE‘.

Though Fortune Dane is largely known for producing or releasing straight up hardcore hip hop songs and can be referred to as one of the household names when it comes to producing trap music in Ghana, the situation is quite different on ‘The Fortunate 707’ as fans should expect to 7 rap songs and 7 RnB type songs (Hence the title: 7 0 7 )
” Expect a bit of hardcore , but you’ll get more of love , attachment and closure to your daily experiences . It wont make you feel alone, you will feel hope and not feel alone.
Sometimes people feel you are a star so you have no problems. At the end of the day , we are all human , we all love , we feel less appreciated by some , we feel disrespected by some … money doesn’t change that… we are all in this , we all go through it. Listeners are fans should know that they are not alone. This EP is to encourage you”.
The EP will be released on 14th August 2018 and will be available for Pre-Order on 9th of August, 2018.

President of Creative Arts Council, Mark Okraku Mantey is asking musicians to pile pressure on government to construct the promised ultra-modern music recording studio for musicians.
Mark told musicians last year that government had laid down plans to build the music recording studio and also take some Ghanaian music producers outside the country for training, but they have not materialised.
It would be recalled that during the 2nd Annual General Meeting of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) on Thursday, 27th July, 2017 at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Mark Okraku Mantey told stakeholders that government was concerned about the low quality of music production in the country.
According to the Slip Music boss, government realised there was the need to improve sound quality in the country that will meet international standards.
But one year one, Mark Okraku Mantey explained to Christian Agyei Frimpong, host of Onua 95.1FM’s entertainment talk show, Anigye Mmre, why the project has delayed.
According to him, some stakeholders spoke against the government’s decision with some claiming it was not important.
He added that since the Ministry of Education is pushing so hard for the Free SHS to be successful, those in the creative arts industry must also mount pressure on the government to build the ultra-modern recording studio.
Appiah Dankwah, popularly known as Appietus, a music producer, who joined the conversation via telephone insisted that government should invest in sound engineers/producers by helping them get the necessary equipment to improve their sound quality.
He noted that they already have the materials and with a little support from government they will get the required sound quality.
“Using Hush Hush recording studio as an example, it went down because someone formatted the computer they were saving their data on and it affected the sound engineers/producers,” he said

SKY is a movement by teen girls, for teen girls. It seeks to inspire teen girls to stay true to themselves and what they believe in. i.e To be who they are, not who someone else thinks they should be, to support each other in being themselves, staying true to what they care about and saying no to things that they don’t want in their lives, like gossiping and smoking tobacco.
The movement has a serious purpose and that is empowering girls and building a resilient generation of young women. But it is fun in flavor and built around things they love to do and to talk about.
