Ahead of his birthday on August 16th, award-winning Ghanaian musician King Promise swapped traditional celebrations for a day of community action in Accra, raising funds for vulnerable youth alongside Akwaaba Volunteers NGO and Ecobank Ghana.
The outreach kicked off early Saturday, August 15th, with a charity road run joined by the 7 Even Run Club and local fans to draw attention to the NGO’s mission. The activities continued into the evening on the Padel court, where underprivileged children participated in friendly matches designed to build community and bring joy to the youth.
Demonstrating his dedication to social impact, King Promise donated GH₵30,000 to Akwaaba Volunteers NGO to directly support their youth welfare programs. Supported by corporate partner Ecobank Ghana, the initiative underscored the musician’s desire to express gratitude by uplifting his home community.
Reflecting on the event, King Promise shared that celebrating another year is a blessing best spent showing up for others. Representatives from Akwaaba Volunteers NGO expressed appreciation for the contribution, noting that the funds will directly improve opportunities for children in their care. The initiative highlights an inspiring shift among Ghanaian artists utilizing personal milestones to champion vital social causes.
