DJ Lord Bags 2 Ghana DJ Awards Nominations

It was a festival of local and international stars and a fabulous set design on Friday, April 6, as Joy Prime beamed, live from their studios, the official nominees announcement ceremony for the 2018 Ghana DJ Awards to millions of music fans across the African continent.

Dexterous Ghanaian disc jockey – Lord Barnes widely known as DJ Lord has been nominated for 2 awards at this years Ghana DJ Awards. DJ Lord started his career as a DJ 5 years back and from that point forward he has been taking off in his field.

He’s the official DJ of the Live Breakfast Club (LBC) on Live 91.9fm from Monday to Friday (6am-9am) with Jay Foley and also Magnom’s official DJ. In the Ghanaian night-life scene, he’s the event host and official DJ for #FridaysAtBusStop which takes place at the Bus Stop Sports Bar and Lounge (Ring Road Central , Next to Eddy’s Pizza).

He’s graced some of the top-most shows and concerts in Ghana in the past year. He played the S Concert, Ghana Meets Naija , MTN Pulse campus activations amongst others. Earlier this year , he toured Rwanda with Magnom where they both excelled in their respective fields , raising the Ghanaian flag high.

In 2016 , he won a honor for the Best Campus DJ at the Ghana Tertiary Awards. He has worked with a few artists; Feli Nuna, Magnom, Darko Vibes, Lord Paper , Frank P , Mabiina ,Kojo Cue and a few others .

DJ Lord has been nominated for “Artist DJ of the year (Magnom)” and “Mixtape Of The Year” for his “Special Request (Shatta Wale x Wizkid)” Mixtape . The nominations are proof that he is enhancing in his work and ready to make it to the apex

This is a home-made compilation of songs composed by award-winning Ghanaian dancehall artiste – Shatta Wale andNigerian genius – Wizkid. This mixtape was recorded live on air via a 30 minutes segment allocated to him on the LBC morning show dubbed “Go Hard”.

“Go Hard” is a 30 minutes relay of exclusively Ghanaian tunes yet this time , business as usual must be ruptured because of the Wizkid-Shatta Wale feud which was being talked about on the show right then and there.

Listeners of the show became hopelessly enamored with the blend and furthermore asking for the playlist . By popular demand, he chose to coin a mix-tape out of the entire occasion.
