Ko-Jo Cue and Shaker return with “This Trip,” a two-track project that captures different sides of their creative chemistry. The release features the title track “This Trip” alongside “Seen Dreams,” featuring Titi Owusu.
On “This Trip,” Ko-Jo Cue and Shaker deliver confident bars about ambition, progress, hustle and perseverance. They reflect on rising from the bottom, staying focused and continuing to push forward. Their references to planning, passion, pay, practice, progress, hustle and prayer reinforce the mindset behind their journey, while the energetic delivery makes it clear they are back to make an impact.
“Seen Dreams” moves into a more romantic and sensual space. Titi Owusu sings about intimacy, affection and the dreamlike feeling created by a strong attraction. Ko-Jo Cue recalls the moment he first noticed someone who immediately caught his attention, imagining taking her around the world and building a life together. Shaker adds his own perspective, admiring the woman’s curves, appearance and physical presence while expressing his desire to stay with her for life. Together, the two songs present “This Trip” as a blend of ambition, romance, attraction, confidence and personal expression, while setting the stage for Pen & Paper 2.
This Trip is produced by Paq and Seen Dreams is produced by Shaker.
