AMG Armani – Thanks

AMG Armani explores heartbreak, betrayal and unappreciated love on “THANKS”. Riding on a 2Pac’s “Hit ’Em Up”-inspired production. Armani’s tells his side of a story of a relationship in which he feels his generosity was taken for granted.

In “THANKS,” AMG Armani recounts meeting Akua in 2020, after she responded to his initial message and told him she was done with her previous relationship. He says he offered emotional support, put other romantic interests aside and became someone she could lean on. However, he later heard that Akua had reconnected with her ex, leaving him hurt despite the time, money and effort he says he invested in helping her.

By drawing inspiration from a recognisable 2Pac classic, AMG Armani connects the song’s musical influence with its central story. The “Take money” refrain feels particularly relevant to his account of Akua, as he reflects on giving so much to someone and feeling that his kindness was used. “THANKS” ultimately turns that disappointment into a pointed reflection on loyalty, sacrifice and betrayal.
