Popular English singer , songwriter and musician Ed Sheeran is currently making waves on social media as videos of him have emerged which strongly suggests he is in Ghana . He is seen with 3-time MOBO Award winnner Fuse ODG , as well as recording in the studio with KillBeatz.
It comes as no surprise as it was indicated in September last year that the UK singer would be heading to Ghana to record new music as part of a career adventure in Africa and was said to be looking for “inspiration” for his upcoming music. He believed the ambience in Ghana could help inspire his new project.

Kwaw Kese and Kanye West Set to release a song ?

Paul Nuamah Donkor , a Ghanaian record producer, rapper, singer , songwriter and sound engineer better known by his stage name Jayso, yesterday marked his Birthday by releasing an EP titled “#0106” (Download 17 MB). The EP featured artistes such as Copta & Titi , as well as producers such as Drumroll , Yung Fly and MikeMillzOnEm.
One very interesting bit of Jayso’s #0106 EP that arouses curiosity is the Cover Art of the EP (designed by @akolabone ) . The Cover Art depicts Jayso carrying a bag of crowns.
Jayso took time to explain the concept behind the cover via his Official Twitter Account which said
“ Producers are KingMakers. That’s the concept of the artwork.
#RespectTheProducer@akolabone “

The concept would be music to the ears of most Ghanaian producers as some of them feel they do not get proper recognition / credit for their hard work.
Gold Label Africa Outreach, supported by CHILDREN ARE REASON ENOUGH (C.A.R.E Foundation) and Lizzy’s Sports Complex will hold the 3rd edition of its annual Inter Orphanage Games on 11th June at the Lizzy’s Sports Complex.
The initiative seeks to bring together children from various orphanages to network and build friendships which helps in their development. It also unearths young talents and encourages the participating children through messages by their role models. Over the years, Ghanaian businessmen, actors, musicians and other professionals have attended the games to mentor and encourage the kids. These include, Ama K. Abebrese, Sarkodie, Dr. Duncan, Lil Shaker, Mr.M, Ephraim, and many others. The initiative has been lauded by many stakeholders and has been supported in the past by Nestle Ghana, Live FM, Indomie Ghana, IPMC, Live On Campus, Tatas and friends, Zone36, DisturbingGH,The Killinit Family among others
Speaking to the President of Gold Label Outreach, Mr. Chris N.Yalley, he emphasized that human existence is only valuable when we are able to make positive changes in the lives of others especially vulnerable children. He said “Our foundation is committed to help build strong young men and women physically and mentally and the games on 11th June will do just that’’. He added “This year will be a buildup on what we have achieved in the past. We have selected mentors who will coach each of the teams. These are people the children look up to and will make a positive impact on them. We know the games make them happy but we are also concerned about leaving them with something that time cannot erase”. The project he believes fits into the foundation’s main aim of improving the lives of orphaned children in Ghana.
This year’s event will feature 8 orphanages from the various municipalities in the Greater Accra region. Teshie Orphanage won the first edition of the program. The second edition also saw Heavens orphanage take home the top prize. Winners will take home prizes from the sponsors, a trophy, medals and a participation fee for all homes participating. It would be held on the 11th of June 2016 at the Lizzys Sports Complex. This year’s Inter-orphanage Games promises to be bigger and better with support from celebrities who would be coaching each home.
In Ghana, the issue of orphans was raised for the first time in the 2014 budget where an amount of about GH¢5 million was allocated to 5 orphanages. The support for orphanages countrywide is inadequate and Gold Label Africa Outreach has added its voice to the many calls for government as well as private individuals and organizations and all relevant stakeholders to help support the welfare of orphans in the country.

A song titled “Ghana Jollof” doesn’t sound soo controversial now , does it ? . Welcome to the Jollof Wars .

Sister Deborah‘s contribution to the eternal Ghana-Nigeria Jollof Wars came in the form of a song titled “Ghana Jollof” , which made its way to Fader ??.
She spoke to Live Fm’s Berla Mundi about what motivated her to do the song and also revealed that a video to the song would soon follow.
Speaking on what inspired the song, Sister Deborah revealed that “Ghana Jollof” was actually in response to a song by Princess Vitara titled “Nigerian P***y” , a song which threw shade at Ghana .
Unfortunately , Princess Vitara’s song was quite sexually explicit and She (Sister Deborah) couldn’t replicate that despite pressure from a few people to do so. Instead, she decided to name her version “Ghana Jollof” and make it as clean of a response as possible with the help of her brother Wanlov.
