The story is told of the breakup of her parents, which required her leaving Tema where she was born. eShun decided to visit her church one last time before she moves with her dad to Kumasi. She entered and found a guy named Emmanuel Danquah inside the church rehearsing with the church piano.

The guy having heard that she sings with the Church Choir convinced her to sing just a song before she leaves. After the session with the church keyboardist, he coerced her to stay, to which eShun agreed after she convinced her Dad with the help of the head pastor of the church (Holy fire International Church) who was then a family friend. The Man of God agreed to take eShun through school and host her, and that was the beginning of the grooming of eShun’s so heart felt voice.
