Award-winning UK-based Ghanaian artiste Fuse ODG has confirmed that he is in constant communication with music producer Killbeatz.

The two were in the news in December last year for having a misunderstanding between them as a result of which Fuse ODG sacked the music producer from his mansion.

Speaking on 3FM’s Urban Blend on his recent co-win at the 2018 Grammy Awards, Fuse ODG said the win is for all who contributed towards Ed Sheeran’s Divine album, which won the ‘Best Pop Vocal Album’.

Asked if he was in contact with music producer Killbeatz, Fuse responded in the affirmative.

“Yes we talk. I talk to Killbeatz and we have congratulated each other and all that. Killbeatz co-produced Ed Sheeran’s album with a talent called OT in Ghana who played the guitar,” he said.

According to the award-winning artiste, everyone who contributed towards the album is entitled to share in the joy of the win.

“All these guys contributed to the album and they owe 100% credit to the album. So this Grammys is shared with both Killbeatz and as well.”

‘It’s crazy’

Fuse ODG co-wrote Ed Sheeran’s ‘Bibia Be Ye Ye’ song, which features in Sheeran’s Divine album released in 2017.

He expressed his excitement about the award when he was asked how having won a Grammys makes him feel.

“It’s crazy. I and Ed actually spoke about it, but for it to happen is another thing. It is quite surprising and an amazing achievement because it is the closest that Ghana has been in that world, and we managed to get into that world because Ed came to Ghana.”

According to Fuse, to be named as one of the writers on the album is an honour and blessing for him.

He stated that he is committed to connecting Ghanaian artistes to their international counterparts across the world.

“My mission is to create a bridge between world class artistes and Ghanaian artistes because as Ghanaians, we have world class talent, and we just need to connect them. The idea is to connect talents across the world”

He also mentioned a planned concert scheduled to take place in Ghana this year featuring Ed Sheeran and some top international acts.

Fuse ODG said he has a lot of projects coming up this year part of which will be an album release and the construction of a secondary high school.

“We are building a secondary school in Akosombo, and work has started on that. We already have a primary school which has about 200 students. They are orphans who can’t afford education and we accommodate them.”
