Sensational soul singer, eShun somewhere last week in an interview on Okay FM posited that most Ghanaian musicians seek spiritual backing or better still ‘juju‘ to fuel their popularity in the music industry.

According to eShun, a Mallam once requested for her pubic hair for rituals in order to produce hit songs. Besides, artistes like Adu Patrick, Tinny, Flowking Stone, et al. have all voiced that ‘juju’ is real in Ghana music industry.

But renowned producer cum artiste, Magnom has refuted claims that using ‘juju’ has what it takes to help an artiste produce hit songs. To him, if ‘juju’ or whatsoever works as communicated by eShun, then everyone can get up and ride on ‘juju’ to make a hit song.

“I don’t believe in that juju stuff to champion a hit song otherwise everyone could get up and consult a juju man or better still Mallam for hit songs”, Magnom said this in an interview with Emcee Bebe on Cape FM.

Magnom who produced Sarkodie’s ‘illuminati’ hit song added that a lot goes into the production of a hit song. According to him, music in itself is a bit complicated but you can’t downplay the effort of the artiste.

“It’s all about hardworking. Besides, the song should be good, good production as well as promotion. But then, you can have everything right but the song will still not blow as expected. However, the making of a hit song isn’t gambling neither juju”, Magnom insisted.

Magnom, real name Joseph Bulley, is a Ghanaian music producer, whose productions are usually a fusion of other genres with Afro Beats. Magnom has produced a lot of hit songs like Edem’s ‘Nyedzilo’, Asem’s ‘Wasted’, Sarkodie’s ‘Illuminati,’ and many more.
